There was a moment when I first watched the film with Mike Binder that I suddenly realised what he was looking for; an intimacy and mood unlike anything I'd done before. It would require different colours to the orchestral pallette I was used to. So I used soft textures of synths, over which I put drifting charangos, guitars, voices and piano. There are also 5 featured musicians, and those sessions were much like the SIDEWAYS sessions, also recorded at Conway Studios. Then to deal with the humour I went with a sort of reggae influence so as to have an interesting pulse behind the action. I daresay I was influenced by Stewart Copeland's Rumblefish score.

At the end of the sessions the ensemble then 'covered' 3 of the themes in an improvised style. I spend my time carefully weaving the fabric of music together, but during these recordings the players intuitively wove something completely new, spontaneously and in the moment,
and it felt like magic.
It was fucking amazing.

I didn't want it to end, and Mike Binder came up to me and suggested we continue all day long! Sadly we couldn't, but fortunately those
3 tracks are on the cd.

My great thanks to the players, and my crew. The sessions were recorded and mixed by Greg Townley.
